If you have a residence permit, and therefore an address in Switzerland, you can buy the half-fare travelcard. Since this travelcard renews automatically every year, make sure to tell the colleagues at the SBB counter that your stay is temporary, so that the travelcard will be cancelled and not renewed at the end of the first subscription year.
