At the information, only persons domiciled outside Switzerland can purchase the card and we have no idea whether we are those persons.

Yes, you can also buy the Half-Fare travelcard for 1 year, but without automatic renewal. The subscription is automatically cancelled due to temporary residence in Switzerland. To purchase the subscription, please contact directly an SBB ticket counter.
