We can’t verify your statement without knowing the travel date and the departure/arrival points of your trip. Also, when comparing costs, make sure you are comparing half fare vs. full fare tickets. We use the Swiss Franc (CHF) as our legal tender.
If the cost is less than for a Point-to-Point ticket, you can use a Saver Day Pass, no matter which railway line. I suggest using the SBB Mobile app for timetables and ticket purchase.
