Changing ticket validation time

I purchased a return ticket with the help of a Swiss national from a machine at Geneva airport intending to return some 9 days later but it appears that its validity for one day only. However it cost the same as it would have for a return on the date I wanted have I lost the fee and now need a fresh ticket to return?

Thank you for your query.

A return ticket is valid for 1 day (short distances up to 115 km) or 10 days (long distances from 116 km). A refund of the ticket is only possible on the same day of validity. You need a new ticket to Geneva Airport. You can try to go to a ticket office and ask if it is possible to refund.
