Cost of buying a ticket for a specific rute vs Saver Day Pass

Hi, I need a return ticket from Basel to Genève, when selecting the specific route, I was given the option of selecting a saver day pass for each day of travel. If I choose both trips with a day saver pass, the final price that the page shows is CHF 97. I’m confused because if I were to buy the two saver day passes it would be CHF 104. What is the difference between these two options? Is the first one cheaper because it is limited to the route I chose? And if so, would I still have schedule flexibility within that route in that specific date? Thanks for your help!

What concerns the prices, without knowing the date of travel or any screenshots, it is hard to follow your saying. Do you have the Half Fare Card? If not, be careful you are not going to mix up Saver Day Passes for ½ fare versus full fare.

A Saver Day Pass allows you to travel on almost the entire public transport network for one day. You are free to choose your route.
