I wonder if I should change from S 10 to S 50 at Mendrisio?

I plan to travel from Lugano to Malpensa Airport by train S 10 25779 in August.
The SBB site says ‘From Mendrisio as S 50 25579 heading towards Malpensa Aeroporto T2’.
I wonder if I should change from S 10 to S 50 at Mendrisio?

Sometimes there are two trains from Lugano that will be separated in Mendrisio, one part of the train is proceeding to Chiasso, the other to Malpensa.

To help you in more details, you would have to tell us the date & time of travel.

Yes, this train is separated in Mendrisio. I take this train from time to time to position from Lugano to Chiasso. In Mendrisio, there is an announcement that the train will be separated now.

Just get on the right part in Lugano, watch out for the destination indication on the coach and you are all set.

Boarding the right coach will mean you do not have to change trains in Mendrisio.
