Hi, I’m coming to the Coldplay concert in Zurich on Saturday 1 July 2023. However, we have received an email explaining that we have free access to public transport in Zurich. But there is also the question of special trains for the event. Is it possible to travel from Basel to Zurich free of charge? Or can we get a discount on the ticket if we’re taking part in the event?

There is no special discount for Coldplay visitors. The ticket for the concert includes free public transport in Zurich only (ZVV). You will need a regular ticket to get from Basel SBB to Zurich. The return ticket is CHF 68.00 full fare.

If you take the IR36 train, you need a ticket from Basel SBB to Dietikon. From Dietikon, your concert ticket is valid. Get off the train in Zürich Altstetten to reach Letzigrund stadium. Note: The proposed ticket combination is only valid on IR36 trains; any other direct train needs a Basel SBB to Zurich HB ticket.

There are no extra trains planned from Basel, whatsoever.

Glad you’re coming to Switzerland. In your concert ticket you can use all zones of the ZVV public transport. To get to Zurich from anywhere else you will have to buy a ticket for the regular price.

There are extra trains to get to Zurich which you can also use with a normal ticket.
