Hello

We travel from Geneva Airport to Zermatt on 12th August and return on 26th August. We buy a half fare card as this gives us a significant discount on lifts in Zermatt and can work out how to book our own tickets but not those for our children (aged 11 and 9y) which we believe should be free (we may be incorrect) when they travel with us. There is an option to add them and say they have a Co-Travelcard or a Junior Travelcard but not the Family Card. If I add them with no discount it costs us 19CHF per child for each journey (which may be correct but was not our understanding). Which is the best way to add them or do we not need to if we are accompanying them?

Your children travel for free if you either hold the Swiss Family Card, or the Junior Card. The Swiss Family Card is complimentary if you buy the Swiss Half Fare Card.

If you hold the Swiss Family Card or the Junior Card, you are not required to purchase tickets for the children. The card is their ticket when accompanied by at least one parent holding a valid ticket. Simply buy tickets for the adults. The Children Day Pass is required if you neither hold one of the two before-mentioned cards.
