Thank you Roland for taking out time to reply. Much appreciated.
So, Yes, the amount was refunded back to my card in 3 hours. So here are my 2 cents about what might have happened.
So, Once I finalized on the train and was about to make the purchase and I was on the payment gateway page, I thought to check another train in a different time on same day and compare their prices. So, I opened a new tab with sbb.ch and went ahead with purchasing the ticket for a new train. And SBB.ch does not like that. It puts up a message on any existing tab that you have opened the website on some other tab as well and wants you to close it.
Unfortunately I was exactly doing this. I went ahead with the new tab and went till the payment page for this as well and found out that the price is more. Now, I went back to my old tab and filled in my card details and made the payment (but little did i know that the underlying sbb tab might have already released that ticket the moment I switched to another sbb tab). I know it might be getting technical over here. But I believe that’s the reason why my payment was made but against no existing ticket and it took them 3 hours to automatically send back my amount. And i was horribly searching for my ticket under my orders and emails etc.
Lesson learnt well! Today I did book a train using just 1 SBB browser tab and it worked smooth for me.
I you have read till here..thanks for your patience as well. Have a good day ahead!
