For which routes is a point-to-point ticket (without via-stations specified) valid?
Hi!
1. What’s the general rule for the routes on which a point-to-point ticket (Streckenbillet) is valid if no via-stations are specified? Is it correct that one can use either the quickest or the cheapest connections?
For example: is a ticket Bern-Luzern without any via-stations valid for:a. the direct 1h01 routes via Zofingen/Sursee (CHF 39), andb. the 1h22 - 1h26 routes via Olten (CHF 39), andc. the 1h27 routes through the Emmental via Entlebuch (CHF 35)?
2. If not, what is the basic rule?
3. Is there a link or another source where this rule can be found?
By the way: I realize that tickets bought through the SBB website and app automatically display the correct price for the connection one chooses. But this isn’t always the case with third-party resellers, where one can just get a ticket from A to B without seeing any further specifications.
I’m also aware of other options like the Saver Day Pass and the Day Pass for Half-Fare Travelcard/Swiss Half Fare Card holders, which are valid on all routes on the validity map. But my questions specifically concern point-to-point tickets.
Thanks so much for your assistance!
