Ticket for the night GA travelcard

Hello, I’m trying to buy a ticket to travel from Zurich to Chiasso. I have the night GA travelcard. I tried to get a ticket on the app SBB (that are supposed to be free right?), some trains let me choose the seat reservation for 5 CHF (shouldn’t it be free?), others don’t even let me do that. I don’t understand, maybe I don’t need a ticket and I can just travel on the train with the travelcard for free without a registration, can it be?

If you have a Night GA Travelcard and you travel between 7pm and 5am (7am on weekends and general public holidays), you do not need to buy a ticket. You can show your Swiss Pass Card or your SBB Mobile App if your SwissPass appears on your phone.

However, if you travel on a different time, you will need to buy a ticket. The seat reservation is not compulsory and it is not included in the travelcard - if you want to have a guaranteed seat, the price of 5.00 francs always applies.
