Super Saver ticket to Lucerne transport museum

I’m wondering if I buy a return Super Saver ticket from Zurich to Lucerne transport museum, is it possible not to go back from the museum (to skip this part of the journey by public transport) but from the Lucerne main station on the train stated in the ticket? Or will the return ticket not be valid in this case?

Yes, this is doable, provided your ticket is routed via Lucerne main station. And, you must not miss the train there; otherwise the ticket is no longer valid.

Btw: for a tourist, Lucerne would make a better base than Zurich. Lucerne is very Swiss, while Zurich is not.

As well as for the tip about Lucerne. We are just already staying at a friend’s place in canton Zurich. So would need to travel to Lucerne this way.

Ah yes, I did ask about lake Lucerne🙂 Regarding this I wanted to do another journey including a cruise on the lake.

Our trip is between Oct 29 and Nov 4. Yes, I’m traveling with my child and mom.

I’ve also seen now there is free admission to the Lucerne transport museum on Oct 29 because of Lucerne city marathon. Maybe we do this. Although I realise there could be many people there.

We lived in Switzerland but long ago. So I have to learn about all the stuff from scratch. Thanks a lot for answering questions and providing advice here!
