New compulsory Check-in on all regional trains in Italy from 28. October 2023.
The Regional Transport Italy association has decided that, before travelling, every passenger must check in for the regional train they want to use. This also applies to passengers who purchased their tickets in Switzerland. Check-in is only possible on the day of travel until 5 minutes before the scheduled train departure. If failed to do so, the ticket is not valid.
→ Exception: tickets of the Arcobaleno tariff association (Switzerland-Italy cross-border tickets) are not affected by the check-in.
