Hello daisy-2805
The Half Fare Travelcard (1 year) is generally meant for people living in Switzerland or in neighbouring countries. It is uploaded, like all public transport season tickets in Switzerland, to the SwissPass card. In addition, the Half Fare Travelcard renews automatically, so if you don’t want to reactivate it, you’ll have to let us know in due time.
You can request your Half Fare Travelcard at any SBB counter. When buying online, in fact, only passports and ID cards issued in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy or Liechtenstein are accepted.
The Swiss Half Fare Card (1 month), on the other hand, can be purchased online without restriction. This is an offer designed for tourists or those travelling in Switzerland for a limited period of time. There is no automatic renewal - the card is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.
In addition, if you have the Swiss Half Fare Card, children and young people aged between 6 and 16 can travel with you free of charge. The Swiss Half Fare Card will not be loaded onto a SwissPass Card and you therefore do not need an identity document when purchasing it. You will receive it as an e-ticket.
I wish you an amazing stay in Switzerland.
Regards,
Chiara_S
