Hello everyone, I will be traveling for 6 months, nearly every day, from St. Niklaus to Zermatt. Is there an option to purchase a 6-month ticket? Perhaps it’s more cost-effective than buying a monthly ticket? Are there any ways to make it more affordable, such as purchasing online or through other means?

You have to check with your employer if there are special offers for employees which are subsidised by them.

What concerns regular public transportation tickets, I suggest the 1-month GA Travelcard: the GA Travelcard for a month | SBB. A return ticket will cost you CHF 25 per day, approx. CHF 550 per month. The 1-month Travelcard would cost you CHF 420 per month and entitles you to use the entire public transport network in Switzerland at no additional costs. And, there is no cancellation period, it will simply terminate after one month.

There are no discounts other than the reduced price for travellers under 25 years old (CHF 126 per month instead of CHF 173).

As @RolandP mentioned, you may ask your employer if there is some special offer for employees.

Thank you for your response. I will only be traveling to Zermatt and back to St. Niklaus. So, I think the most suitable option will be to purchase a monthly ticket for approximately 175 CHF.

RolandP I checked that a round-trip monthly ticket from St. Niklaus to Zermatt costs approximately 173 Swiss francs. Please correct me if I’m wrong, or if you know how I can write an email to the SBB office?

The Point-to-point Travelcards | SBB is a viable option. Yes, it costs CHF 173 per month, you can order it online using the link I mention in this response. I didn’t expect the Point-to-point travel card to be so inexpensive. SBB can only be contacted by phone (+41 51 225 78 56, from abroad, available 24/7, waiting times may occur). Or, you visit the SBB Travel Center in Visp. Bring a passport photo (physical or digital) with you, as your ticket requires a photo.
