[Info] Interlaken Ost - Grindelwald / Lauterbrunnen: no train services from 04 Dec to 08 Dec 2023

Due to construction work, the Interlaken Ost - Grindelwald and Interlaken Ost - Lauterbrunnen railway lines will be closed from 04 December to 08 December 2023. Rail replacement buses will operate. Departure in Interlaken Ost on the side of platform 1. Please follow the signs.

The timetable has been adjusted. No transport of bicycles on the rail replacement buses.

With replacement buses, how long will be the journey from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald? SBB app is showing about 2hrs+, and it does not look like a direct bus journey. Where can we view the full timetable of the replacement buses?

Hello HT4

You are right; so far, only the bus schedule to Lauterbrunnen has been published. The bus schedule for Grindelwald is still missing, except for the last connection of the day at 23:05.

Kindly note, as these trains are operated by Berner Oberland Bahnen, the SBB timetable is dependent on their information and timetable dataset. Hopefully, it will be provided soon.

To give you an idea, the bus ride to Grindelwald will take approx. 38 minutes, and will leave Interlaken Ost roughly at same time as the trains according to today’s train schedule.
