I started the basic GA Travelcard on October 11, 2023. And my husband, who lives in the same household as me, plans to purchase GA DUO on November 11, 2023.
I plan to teminate my basic GA Travelcard after 6 months, on April 10, 2024, which is the end of the minimum contract term(6 months). However, my husband’s GA DUO will only have been purchased for 5 months at that time, which does not meet the minimum contract term.
From SBB website:
“Minimum contract term of six months.
Every GA Travelcard has an initial minimum contract term of six months, regardless of the payment interval. After that, you decide whether to continue your travelcard or cancel it at the end of each travelcard month, giving notice of one travelcard month.”
“If your GA Travelcard is a basic GA Travelcard (GA Travelcard for Adults, GA Travelcard for Youth, GA Travelcard for 25 Year Olds, GA Travelcard for Seniors or GA Travelcard for Disabled Persons), cancelling the basic GA Travelcard will also cancel all GA Travelcards linked to it (linked GA Travelcards are the GA Travelcard for Duos P, GA Travelcard Familia for Children, GA Travelcard Familia for Youth, GA Travelcard Familia for Adults)”
Based on the information above, we still feel confused and we would like to know, which of the following situations will then occur, on April 10, 2024?
Situation 1: My husband’s GA DUO will end on April 10, 2024, along with my basic GA Travelcard.
Situation 2: My husband’s GA DUO will end on April 10, 2024, along with my basic GA Travelcard. However, due to not meeting the minimum contract term, he will need to hold GA for another month and pay the price of the basic GA Travelcard.
Situation 3: Because my husband’s GA DUO will only have been held for 5 months on April 10, 2024, I, as the holder of the basic GA Travelcard, will not be able to cancel my GA subscription either. The two GAs can only be canceled together when GA DUO meets the minimum contract term of 6 months, which is May 10, 2024.
