Bernina express maintenance

I have booked myself from Chur to Tirano on 19th Nov (Sun). However someone told me that there is scheduled maintenance on the route on that day.

Is this true? If yes, what is the alternative way to reach Tirano? Is it scenic too?

Yes, the Bernina line is closed starting from 19 November 2023 for maintenance.

The closed section will be operated by replacement buses. The bus ride is not as spectacular as the railway but still impressive. However, looking at the weather forecast for the next weekend, I fear the weather will not be your friend. Hopefully you will still be able to get some views.
