Saver Day pass require GA travel card?

I’m traveling from the U.S. to Zurich in February and trying to get tickets to go to Zermatt. When I attempt to purchase the tickets, it gives me the option for an expensive point to point ticket or a Saver Day pass ticket that is much less expensive. Under the Saver Day pass, it says
“For all public transport in the GA Travelcard area of validity; valid Fri, 16.02.2024 until 5am on Sat, 17.02.2024. No refunds.”

Does this mean I need to possess a GA Travelcard in order to buy the Saver Day pass ticket or can I buy and use the Saver Day pass for my trip from Zurich to Zermatt (and back) without a GA Travelcard?

You can buy the Saver Day Pass without possessing the GA Travel Card.

Simplified, the Saver Day Pass is the equivalent of the GA Travel Card yet valid for 1 day only while the GA TC is valid for 365 days. Therefore, the Saver Day Pass has the same range of validity as the GA Travel Card with the exception of mountain railways.
