Cant find SBB trains on Eurail App

Hi, I cant seem to find SBB trains on Eurail app. Can I simply check the train schedule and hop on to the trains based on the schedule on SBB website? Without adding it to my journey in the Eurail app? Helpp

It might be that trains after 10 December 2023 are not yet available due to the annual timetable change.

Which Panorama Express? You have to be more precise, we have quite a few panoramic trains in Switzerland. Yes, most regional train services are included, but not all (e.g. Interlaken-Lauterbrunnen / Grindelwald is not). Also buses are not included.

However, Eurail is not the best pass for Switzerland as it offers less advantages, compared to the Swiss Travel Pass or the Swiss Half Fare Card.

Luzern to Grindelwald
Route: Luzern to Interlaken Ost (Panaroma Express) + Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald (Regio)

Grindelwald to Interlaken
Route: Grindelwald to Interlaken (Bahnhof)

Grindelwald to Geneve
Route: Grindelwald to Interlaken Ost (Regio) + Interlaken to Bern (Intercity) + Bern to Geneve (Intercity)

Geneve to Montreux
Route: Geneve to Montreux (Intercity or Eurocity)

In the Jungfrauarea (Interlaken-Grindelwald / Grindelwald-Interlaken), the Eurail Pass grants a reduction of 25% only. You have to buy a ticket for this stretch.

Luzern-Interlaken, Interlaken-Geneve, Geneve-Montreux, the Eurail Pass is valid.

I wondered why you take the train to Geneva, while there is one of the most scenic train lines that is connecting Interlaken with Montreux: The Goldenpass Line. You can still do a day trip from Montreux to Geneva. The city of Geneva can be visited in one day only.

@RolandP this is actually incorrect. As of the time table change the Eurail/Interail pass is now also valid on the BOB to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, the WAB Lauterbrunnen - Wengen, and on the BLM. That is a welcome change, as getting the tickets with 25% off was only possible at a ticket office.

The information was valid at the time I have written it. There has not been any (internal) information about a recent change of the validity. Eurail (see link I provided above) and SBB still state the 25 % reduction.

I will check with SBB and will let you know.

I have a trip coming up to Wengen and I am interested to hear if those lines are now included too.

Based on this PDF https://www.seat61.com/reference/2024-interrail-eurail-coverage-switzerland.pdf it looks like they are but wouldn’t mind more official confirmation. The eurail app still states those routes are not in the pass network.

I have just asked a conductor on the Wengeralpbahn this morning, and he confirmed that Eurail is now valid on Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen - Wengen, Interlaken Grindelwald, and Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen - Mürren.

Please kindly note, Eurail/Interrail is fully covering the aforementioned lines starting from 01 January 2024. As a result, currently, you still have to purchase a ticket at 75% of a full fare ticket.

For historical reasons, amendments to tourist offers become effective by the end of a year and not with the annual timetable change in the beginning of December. This also explains why the change has not been officially communicated to all staff of Swiss public transport companies, and Eurail is still stating the 25% reduction on their website.

Same with Swiss Travel Offers, their ticket prices will also be amended on 1st of January 2024, and not on 10 December 2023.
