SBB is very good at confusing passengers, especially those not familiar with train travel. (Although DB does an even better job there…) 🙂
An example:
When you search for “Basel to Annecy” and want to buy a ticket you get this error message:
This even though the trains are running, and SBB can sell tickets for both Basel - Geneva and Geneva - Annecy.
A tourist from abroad now gives up, rents a car or goes and has a look at Flixbus…
This is not a new problem. I have encountered this myself quite a few times. Trying to book a train to Italy via the Simplon for example is often not possible, and results in the same confusing error.
SBB, you can do much better here…
