Hello JDLC
In Switzerland, a normal point-to-point ticket is good for any train/service on the day of ticket validity. You are not requested to use a specific connection. So, you can simply board the train at a time that suits you best.
Should your ticket read Supersaver ticket, then the story is different: this ticket is only valid on the train as indicated on the ticket. A change of trains is not possible, you would have to buy a new Supersaver ticket, or a normal point-to-point ticket. In the latter case, you could ask for a refund of your Supersaver ticket. Supersaver tickets offer a cheap fare, but do kill any flexibility.
Kind regards,
Roland
