Ticket Purchase Regarding Seats

I purchased a Saver Day Pass (First Class) for Zurich to St Moritz. I don’t understand how I reserve a first-class seat on a specific train. Any help? Did I purchase the wrong ticket?

The ticket is fine for your journey.

On regular Swiss trains, for example from Zürich to Chur, you do not need a seat reservation. You simply board the train in 1st class and get an unoccupied seat.

Now for the stretch from Chur to St. Moritz, you do not mention if you intend to use the Bernina Express or any regular service. For the Bernina Express, a seat reservation in 1st class is recommended, not so for any regular service. You can reserve a seat with the railway operator directly, which is RhB: https://tickets.rhb.ch/en/pages/bernina-express

The ticket I saw online was 3 hrs… Zurich to Landquart and then Landquart to St Moritz (RE13)
I would assume I do not need to book the Bernina Express correct?

No, in this case you don’t.

Well, the RhB line via Chur-Thusis-Bergün-Samedan-St. Moritz (the so called Albula line) would be more scenic, compared to the line via Lanquart-Vereina-St. Moritz. But that’s up to you.
