I am planning a trip involving several train trips. When planning the trains online, the schedule shows a 4 minute changeover. There is also another connection 15 minutes later. If I buy an online ticket and miss the 4 minute connection can I still get on the later train?

We Swiss do like efficency, waiting at the station for the next train is not our thing. Therefore, the timetable does not offer connections which are per se not doable. You will see, once you got here.

In the unlikely event of a train delay resulting in a misconnection, you are welcome to use the next possible connection to your destination, no matter the routing. However, this rule only applies for Saver tickets as regular tickets do anyway allow the use of any connection according to your itinerary and on the ticket’s date of validity.

Hi, I have another question on the same topic. I bought tickets online for a train, but realised later I might not make it to departure hour. Can I take the next train with the same tickets? Is there a procedure to change tickets? Thank you so much for clarifying this for me

It depends on the ticket type.

No, if your ticket reads Supersaver tickets or is a zone based ticket from a local fare network (e.g. ZVV). We do not recommend a purchase of these tickets if you arrive by air, as the chance to miss the train is likely.
Yes, if it is a day pass or a normal point-to-point ticket at regular fare. These tickets are valid on any service serving your itinerary.

Just to make sure I got this right: my ticket says : tarif normal, remboursable jusqu a veille de depart, aupres du canal d achat.
It also says (in French) I can take another train before or after, if the itinerary, the date and conditions allow.

You should not post PNR numbers on a public forum, that’s unsafe. It could be abused.

We cannot answer the question because we cannot access your ticket.

Have you got the tickets, too? French railways sell online tickets which must be picked up at the railway travel office in France before boarding. Check if that is the case with your tickets, please. Travelling with the PNR is not sufficient, you need tickets with a QR code.

I have qr codes, that I printed. Is that enough? Just want to know if I don t catch my train if I can board the next

If you don’t catch a train because a previous train was late, you can take the next train.

If you spent to much time in the Louis Vuitton shop or while taking photos of the Eiffel tower, and you therefore miss your train, the ticket is usually lost.

RolandP If I understand this correctly, on a supersaver or zone based ticket, which is cheaper, when the trains run on time and I miss the connection because I was too slow getting from one to the other the ticket is lost. but on a normal point to point regular fare I can use a any connection.

It’s not the shops, it’s the airplane arrival time. Best course of actions seems to be trying to get refund and buy other tickets then. Thank you for your time
