Why can I not reserve seats on trains between Basel SBB and Zurich Hbf in February?

With new Versions of of SBB Ticketshops you can only buy seat reservations in Mobile App. Update for sbb.ch probably in April 2024.

It depends on which train you would like to reserve a seat. On IR, RE, R, and S trains, seat reservations are not possible at all.

You do not need to reserve seats for this stretch as there are plenty of seats left. In Switzerland, it’s free seating on trains.

PS. The correct name of Zurich main station is simply Zurich HB.
