TRAIN FROM GENEVE AIRPORT TO ZERMATT

Hello, im traveling from Geneve Airport to Zermmatt next 3 of january. I bought the swiss travel pass flex, but im not sure if i have to book seats to zermmatt. im really confused, in some pages it says i have to booked seats, some pages says i have to take the Matterhorn Gotthard bahn, in other says i have to take the Glacier Express, im also confuse where i have to change trains, some pages says Visp, others says Brig. another question is if there is any restriction with luggage on theses trains. PLEASE HELP ME.

Completing the correct answer from @Thibcabe, the official routing is Geneva-Airport - Visp - Zermatt.

See schedules here: www.sbb.ch/en; simply enter the start and end destination as from/to destinations and the trip planner will get you the fastest connection.

A detour via Brig is not necessary and would only be required if you were taking the Eurorcity (EC) train. However, the IR trains are less busy and offer sufficient number of seats. A reservation is therefore neither required nor possible.

Regarding your Swiss Travel Pass Flex: you must have it activated before boarding a public transport vehicle. Also, it requires your physical passport or national / state ID card upon ticket check. For activation, see this page: https://www.activateyourpass.com. Once activated, it offers free travel at will on the day of validity.

Reservations are optional in Switzerland (except on a few panorama trains like the Glacier Express). Nobody bothers with that.

Hop on and sit wherever you want. As a general tip : the front/rear ends of the train are always less busy -> people are lazy and board in the middle next to the stairs.

There is no luggage limit as long as you can carry it yourself.
