Error code NTTIF-3006 when attempting to purchase tickets

I am attempting to make seat reservations from Frankfurt (Main) Hbf to Zermatt using the SBB Mobile app. When I tap Purchase Ticket I receive the following error:

Connection offers failed.
The offers must be reloaded with the selected role (B2C/B2B)
Error code: NTTIF-3006 (ID: D9JbgVA)

This occurs for whichever train I select for this route. Is this a temporary issue on the booking service, or a problem with this route in particular?

I am using an Interrail pass for the journey, and I cannot book the seat reservations alone on the sbb website until April 2024, so this is not a workaround I can use.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your remarks. As you are travelling with Interrail you don’t need a seat reservation for trains in Switzerland, Basel SBB - Bern - Visp to Zermatt.

Please make surr that your Interrail ist valid for travel in Switzerland and Germany. You can buy seat reservation from Frankfurt to Basel SBB at ticketshop Bahn.de.

In case this is helpful information, I have just tried to make the same reservation booking via the Deutsche Bahn website and it also throws an error when trying to make reservations for the SBB leg of the journey.

On the SBB Mobile application you can make seat reservations for trips within Switzerland. For international trains please call our contact center under the number +41 51 225 78 56.
