Seat reservations with a Swiss Travel Pass

We have purchased 2 travel passes and understand how to make seat reservations on Panoramic trains but what do we do to reserve seats on a trip such as Montreux-Zermatt. The system seems to what me to buy new tickets completely. I could force in a GA Travel Card 1st Class to remove pricing but then it wouldn’t allow a reservation of a seat anyway (and not sure if that would even be acceptable given we have a Travel Pass and not a GA card). Is there a step-by-step guide for these trips (all the focus is on panoramic trips)? Sorry if this has been asked or is intuitive to others but I cannot find anything definitive.

By the number of questions we do receive concerning seat reservations, no, it does not seem to be clear to everyone visiting our country. Nevertheless, the SBB Community is the right place to ask this question.

The topic has not been in our focus so far, because we, the Swiss, do not bother with making seat reservations on trains. After reading my answer in the link posted above, you will understand, why.
