Zurich Milan Time Change

I bought a Supersaver ticket for a journey from Zurich to Milan next month, before I was aware of the Gotthard tunnel incident.

Looking at the revised timetable, the train I had a ticket booked for (EC317 11:33) seems to now be departing at 10:33 direct to Milan, while there is still a departure scheduled at 11:33 (IR75) with a change.

Am I able to take the direct 10:33 with my existing ticket?

You must adhere to the train number given on your ticket, not the train departure time. Therefore, you have leave at 10:33.

Supersaver tickets (ticket number starts with OT…) normally require a change of trains at either Lugano or Chiasso. Check the itinerary on your ticket for the onward connection.

If it is an Eurocity through ticket (their ticket number consists of a 6 digits PNR), only then you are allowed to stay on the direct Eurocity train.

My ticket was purchased before the incident so shows a direct connection at 1133.

When I now search the connection on the sbb website it is showing a direct connection Zurich to Milan (EC317 10:33 on 4.10), do you know if it is likely this will change and require a transfer?

Since all trains are rerouted, the journey from Zurich to Milan takes an hour longer. Consequently, direct connections have been rescheduled and will leave now an hour earlier. Therefore, you are supposed to take the direct EC that leaves at 10:33. The adjusted timetable will remain in place for the next weeks, or even months as long as the repair work is in progress.
