If a parent holds a saver day pass, can a kid 6-15 yrs ride free without a ticket?
If you already purchased the child day pass, how to get a refund?

Children aged 0 to 5.99 years travel for free.
Children aged 6 to 15.99 years need a ticket at half fare, or a Children Day Pass.

Parents travelling with a Swiss Half Fare Card can ask for the complimentary Swiss Family Card, either during purchase or a staffed railway counter. With the Swiss Family Card, children aged 6 to 15.99 years travel for free when accompanied by at least one parent holding a valid ticket.

For a refund of the Children Day Pass, you must first be in the possession of the Swiss Family Card. There will be a CHF 10 administration fee for processing the refund request.

No, he doesn’t need a ticket, as he is covered by the Swiss Family Card (and your Saver Day Pass).

You can ask for a refund using this form:

To proof that he is covered by other tickets, you should mention the OT number (ticket ID) of one of the Saver Day Passes as well as the OT number (ticket ID) of the Swiss Family Card.

Kindly note: it is the SBB’s sole decision whether they will refund the children day pass. On this platform, I can only give you some guidance how to apply for a refund.

Thank you for confirming that the kid does not need a child saver day pass.

I am surprised by how easy it is to refund the child day pass on SBB app. Just one click, no reason asked, it showed refunded.

True, regular tickets with validity in the future can be cancelled at any time. It works, given you have purchased the ticket as registered client and not as guest.
