Dear SBB,

After a long day at work, just wanted to go home. S-Bahn was delayed 14 minutes and now had to get down three stops before and have to wait in the cold (not even a closed place to wait!) for the next one! Just bought a GA and now I regret it, really, do you treat your customers like this? Apparently it’s not one off.

Extremely disappointed, now I am seriously thinking about getting a car, so unreliable.

The SBB Community is not the SBB Customer Service. If you want to raise an issue, you would have to contact ZVV or SBB:

In order to catch up the delay, and to guarantee a punctual service on the way back, it is sometimes needed to turn the service a few stops earlier. This may happen in all countries.

Hi Roland,

Thank you for your reply, particularly regarding directing me to the right channels to complain. Just wondering that the excuse is: “ It may also happen in other countries” is shocking, I don’t care about the other countries (which I guess you are referring to because I am writing in English), but about the country I am living in. Two weeks since I have started using the S-Bahn and I have been having delays (originally I used to live in the city of Zurich), so it wasn’t a big deal because I had other options. My idea of writing it here btw was to start a discussion, as I heard from the people “stranded” that this is common practice and it happens often, but I guess that’s not wished here.

No offense here. I was saying it as it is common pratice in public transport, no matter where: to insulate a train that has got a delay in order not to pass on the delay to upcoming journey or to other trains in the network. This is the downside when you live in the outskirts and is only noticed once you are personally concerned; as a resident of the inner city, the trains run reliably, thanks to the measures taken at the end points of the line.

However, I encourage you to complain, so the reliability of the trains is put on the watching list and necessary corrections are taken.
