Lucerne to Como train trip

Hi I bought a ticket from Lucerne to Como San Giovanni for May 2024.
The SSB CFF FFS ticket claims we are going from Lucerne to Chiasso. The second tickets claims we get off at Chiasso and get another train to Como San Giovanni.
However, when we bought and looked up the ticket and the travel overview which comes with the bought tickets, state that we go from Lucerne to Lugano, get off at Lugano and changes train to San Giovanni.
Bit confused as to where out stop and change over will be. Chiasso or Lugano or both? Anyone have any advice?

Could you please provide more information on the tickets? Is the first ticket an Eurocity ticket by Trenitalia or a national SBB ticket stating “point-to-point ticket”?

You have separte tickets, first ticket for Lucerne to Chiasso ( Border CH/ IT) and second Chiasso to Como. You will change at Lugano from IC train to local Tilo train. Please check timetable for Lucerne to Como a few days before travelling.
