Hi
I am looking for guidance on the best way to purchase tickets when I visit Switzerland. I was thinking the Swiss Pass, but have just looked at the single journey prices and think that the pass is not good value for my short stay.
I will be arriving on Sat to Zurich airport and staying in Zurich. This looks under 4chf.
Sunday I travel to Schaan-vaduz. I would like to break my journey on route if this is possible to see somewhere else, but keeping costs low is more important, the journey single looks to be 21chf.
On Tuesday I will travel to Luzern, this is about 26chf, again I’d like to break my journey (not Zurich) but only if not going to impact costs too much.
On Wednesday I will go to flugplatz triengen, pilatus-klum and back to Luzern, this looks to be around 30chf
On Thursday around Luzern and to flugplatz beromünster and back, around 12chf depending on return time.
Friday from Luzern to Zurich, possibly stopping somewhere, around 10chf and then on Saturday back to airport for 4chf.

To me this looks cheaper to do on trips rather than a pass? Can I have a train ticket but break my journey or would this require seperate tickets? How do I get around the cities when I am there?

Am I right if I have got the impression that you will be travelling on a budget? If so, I wondered why you wanted to visit Vaduz. Is it for a family visit? Otherwise, there is really no reason to go there. And you save some money.

Having chosen Zurich as a base, I must say you have chosen the most expensive city, also what concerns public transportation cost. You would have better stayed in Lucerne. Much more Swiss, less costly, more charming.

What are your plans for Triengen and Beromünster? Paragliding?

Local short distance tickets are usually valid 2 hours, a return ticket is valid the entire day and allows travel at will during its validity and the zones indicated on the ticket. I think single tickets could work for your needs. And yes, these tickets allow intermediate stops.

You might want to tell us a bit more on your travel plans.
