Need help with Swiss Travel Pass

Tried to purchase Swiss travel pass for 4 passengers. I was paying online but the payment could not be made due to an error. The payment is now showing as pending on my bank statement. I have not received any passes yet. What can I do? Who should I contact? We are flying to Zurich on Monday 12FEB24.

Your issue is very frequent. Your credit card needs 3D secure ID in order to make successful purchases in the SBB webshop.

If you have not received a purchase confirmation e-mail from SBB, the purchase failed. The amount was simply reserved on your credit card and will again be paid back.

Try purchasing the passes from the Switzerland Travel Center, a joint-venture of SBB and MySwitzerland.com, the Switzerland tourism organisation. Their webshop is less restrictive.

We very worried that we might not get the travel pass on time and we are travelling on this Monday 12th February 2024 already.

We will be in Switzerland for 4 days. 2 adults and 2 children (10&4 years old). We are landing in Zurich then take trains to Tasch Zermatt then Luzern then Bern then Zurich. Are these routes applicable and valid to use Swiss travel pass?

Yes, the Swiss Travel Pass is valid on these routes, and I think the Swiss Travel Pass is a good investment.

You only need two adult Saver Day Passes. For the 10 years old, you can request the complimentary Swiss Family Card. With it, your 10 years old cna travel free of charge with you. The 4 years old does not need a ticket at all. In Switzerland, children below 5.99 years oif age travel for free.

Thank you very much, Roland. We received lots of great helps from you. We finally managed to buy our Swiss Travel Pass for 4 days, starting date is 12FEB2024. Hopefully my bank’s pending transaction on 09FEB2024 with SBB will be cancelled as soon as possible because it is quite a lot of money.

The only trains that require a seat reservation are the

the Glacier Express (GE),
the Golden Pass Express (GPX),
and the Gotthard Panorama Express (GoPEx).

Other trains do not need a seat reservation.

Yes, you can. If you hold a 2nd class ticket, you can even upgrade to 1st class for the half of the cost of the regular upgrade cost. Only a seat reservation is needed. If you want to book a seat, simply select “Swiss Travel Pass” or “GA” as reduction type.
