Error while booking tickets.

I’m trying to book tickets using a coupon code (given to me by sbc) on SBB.ch and tried their app too but I am unable to book it as I keep getting an error message. Please check the screen shot.

I tried chatting with their customer service representative she said it can be booked at the ticket counter as currently on web it’s not working.

But I need to book the tickets in advance to plan my travels I cannot wait till end moment.

Can anyone help please.

Your credit card must support 3D secure ID in order to purchase the tickets. Almost all European webshops use this security technology. Talk to your bank to have it activated for your credit card.

Thanks for your help, but I haven’t even reached the payment stage the error is displayed much before that. The moment I click on purchase the error message pops up.
My credit card supports is 3D secure ID.

Thank you for asking SBB Community, May be i can help you to buy a ticket from Geneva to Locarno.

Please check again time table from Geneva to Locarno.

Probably you will find some Connections from Geneva to Domodossla and Centovalli to Locarno.

Or Geneva - Olten - Luzern - Bellinzona.

If you prefer travelling via Domodossla it is possible to book a ticket from Geneva to Domodossola, and second from Domodossola to Locarno.

You can ask community or SBB Contactcenter again.

Actually I’m trying to use a discount coupon and due to that it’s showing the error. The discount is getting applied but after that I can’t go ahead. I guess there is some bug in the backend which needs to be rectified.

I was able to successfully book a ticket for this stretch (Geneva - Locarno, choose Locarno as destination, not Locarno FART) for 6 March 2024.

Can you retry?

If it does not work for you, please contact the SBB Contact Center: 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min, waiting times may occur), or an SBB travel center of your choice.

Yes, i guess an isuue with your coupons. I won’t ask you what kind of reduced fare you want to buy online. Please check the conditons of your coupon.

I know that ticketshop sbb.ch has an issuev with international ticketing. Please check again in two sections in SBB Mobile App

Domodossola - Locarno

Hey Roland, thanks for trying. I shall try it again. But the problem is that when I try to book after redeeming the discount code it doesn’t go ahead. So I guess booking without the coupon code is possible but with the code it isn’t working.

I suggest you to call the SBB.

Today, it has been communicated that the quota of free tickets has been reached and from now on, the ticket is offered with 20% for all new bookings. Existing bookings are still entitled to get a free ticket. Please talk to SBB to get your ticket.

There is certainly a phone number on your booking confirmation, otherwise call the SBB Contact Center: 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min, waiting times are possible).
