Hi,
I want to make sure I have purchased my tickets correctly. My family is traveling by train from Venice to Zermatt in July. I purchased Italian train tickets from Venice to Domodossola. Then I purchased SBB tickets from Domodossola to Zermatt. For these tickets, I used half-fare cards for my husband and I. We are traveling with two children ages 7 and 4. We have the family card associated with our 7 year old. I didn’t buy any tickets, etc for either child between Domodossola and Zermatt.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to pay for seat reservations for any of us for any portion of the SBB tickets? If so, how do I do that? We have seat reservations on the Italian tickets from Milan to Domodossola (they were required), which is why I am wondering. Is there a way to get the same seats as the Italian tickets, if a seat reservation is needed?
2. Do my children need tickets between Domodossola and Brig (or the Swiss border)? If so, what’s the best way to do that so they are connected with our tickets? My understanding is that they will be fine once we cross into Switzerland.
Thanks in advance for your help!
