Swiss Half Fare Card for tourists

Hi, I am planning to buy the Swiss Half Fare Card for tourist, which offers 50% off train tickets. However, when I tried to buy train tickets via SBB, under the discount card, there is only option for “Half Fare Travelcard” (which I understand is meant for Switzerland citizens) and there is no option for “Half Fare Card” (which is meant for tourists). Could anyone help me with this please. Thank you in advance!

Your understanding is not entirely correct.

The option stands for both, the resident’s half fare card as well as the tourist’s half fare card.

Can I also check if I were to book train tickets via DB site (https://int.bahn.de/en/), the “Halbtax-Abo” stands for both the resident’s half fare card (i.e. Half Fare Travelcard) and the tourist’s half fare card (i.e. Half Fare Card) as well?

Yes, exactly. The HFC options always includes the tourist’s HFC as well, as it offers exactly the same reductions; this, no matter which ticket platform you are using. So don’t be hesitant to choose that option 🙂
