Train schedules.... Summer

Trying to plan for June. Are there a lot more trains in summer? Trying to go from Milan–> Interlaken before 5pm for a car rental. And maybe on one of those 3 hr routes too. But it seems limited right now, and what I do see is sold out or something b/c there’s no price and it just pushes you to an alternate train.

Planned construction work with a significant impact on the timetable Trenitalia
Domodossola - Stresa - Arona

From 9 June to 8 September 2024, the route between Arona and Stresa will be completely closed to rail traffic. This means that all EC trains between Domodossola and Milan will be cancelled. There will be a replacement bus service.

We don’t yet timetable of replacement bus service from Stresa to Arona and Domodossola. But you will find timtable and ticket offers from Domodossola to Interlaken at Ticketshop SBB.CH.

At Trenitalia.com you will find also timetable and tickets for alternative route Milano - Lugano - Gottardo - Bern to Interlaken.

Limeuhu12 so doesn’t matter what rail you use nobody is taking that route now? I’m just trying to get to Interlaken by 5pm to get a car without spending 6-8 hrs. Renting car and taking across border to Swiz incurs a big one-way fee. Maybe airlines better?

Looking at it looks like Lucerne is a better way to go. It’s like taking a different line but in same direction.
