Upgrade from 2nd to 1st class for Luzern-Interlaken Express

I have a 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass and would like to travel 1st class on the Luzern-Interlaken Express. I was informed that the upgrade ticket can be purchased in the train station.

Are there any other avenue to purchase the upgrade tickets (for example via online) instead?

Also, would it be a half-price upgrade as I have the Swiss Travel Pass?

Yes, it is possible to purchase the upgrade at the station; however, there are multiple other options to acquire a change-of-class ticket:

with the conductor on the train,
at the ticketing machine at the station,
with the SBB Mobile app (by entering the stretch you want to ride in 1st class on tab Plan),
or through the SBB website: https://www.sbb.ch/en/tickets-offers/tickets/point-to-point-tickets-switzerland/class-upgrades-supersaver-class-upgrades/class-upgrade.html

Holding the Swiss Travel Pass, you can purchase the upgrade (change-of-class ticket) at half fare.

Please bear with me as I seek further clarification.

I attempted to buy the upgrade ticket on SBB website and noticed it stated Half-Fare Travelcard.
Would this be an equivalent to holding a Swiss Travel Pass and therefore the price would indeed be CHF12?

Yes, you are welcome to purchase the class upgrade at half fare, thus CHF 12 is the correct price.

I see that you want to travel on 12 May, which is Mother’s Day here in Switzerland. On a day with great weather, the Luzern-Interlaken Express is very busy in the morning, you have to expect many people doing an excursion as part of the Mother’s Day celebrations.

What time do you intend to travel? As there might be many travellers on that day, a seat reservation would be a good investment, especially if you wish to travel in the morning. You can get it from here:

Are you keen to know an expert tip? Choose a seat on the right-hand side in travel direction, it offers much better views than the left-hand side.
