Supersaver ticket usage when the flight is delayed

Hello,

I have read that: “In the event of train cancellations, delays or line interruptions, you can take the next possible train without purchasing a new ticket provided you obtain confirmation from ticket control or sales staff.”

Is it also valid if the flight is delayed? I am going from Budapest to Basel with a Wizzair flight, but as this is low cost airline, anything can happen. 🙂
I will arrive on Monday to Basel and will go to Bern by train and will leave Bern on Wednesday to go back to Basel to catch my flight. What is the cheapest option to cover this plan if I want to be on the save side and not to miss the train? Is it the Point-to-Point ticket? Can I buy these tickets from the ticket machine for the same amount of money, or is it cheaper to buy it in the app?

No, Supersaver tickets are lost in case of flight delays. We do not recommend using Supersaver tickets when arriving by air.

Purchase standard point-to-point tickets or a Saver Day Pass, whatever is more economic.

The price for a point-to-point ticket is the same on all sales channels.

“Saver” type of tickets are only available online and in advance, which in most cases means latest until the day before the intended travel date. Also their price is increasing, the closer the travel date is approaching. They might even be sold out several days before travel date depending on popularity (public holidays!), as their respective total available numbers for each day or connection is limited.
