Have I bought my ticket right?

I am confused by the several ticket options and I don’t know if I bought my ticket right. I have bought a “biglietto risparmio” ONE WAY today for April 3rd, and it also says “ridotto ½” in my PDF document ticket, next to the QR code. But I do not own any card or have any discount by age. My ticket doesn’t say either that I have to show any card or other documents alongside my ticket. I found on the web that some ONE WAY trips have some discounts but nothing is clear and I can’t find any contact that confirms if I bought my ticket right. I can’t make a phone call as I am abroad now and it would be very expensive. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

“ridotto ½” means that you have specified the Half-Fare reduction in the ticket options. If you do not have a discount card, please buy a new ticket with the correct details and then complete this refund form.

That’s not an issue.
If you hold a Supersaver ticket at half fare (biglietto risparmio ridotto ½) while you do not have the Half Fare Card, you do not have to cancel this ticket. You can simply purchase another standard point-to-point half fare ticket, for the same stretch. The two tickets together allow you to travel.

So in summary, you must have two tickets:

biglietto risparmio ridotto ½
biglietto di percorso ridotto ½

These two tickets make a full fare ticket, without cancelling any ticket.

I have spoken with two friends of mine from Switzerland and they had told me that sometimes there are some flash discounts -similar than the one that I have in my ticket- for people who does not have any card, which are tickets linked to a specific time departure and train. I mean, tickets that don’t work if it is not in this specific train and at this departure time. In french it is called “degriffé” and you can see here that there are different kind of this ticket and in one of them they do not say that you need any card:

Therefore, I am still confused.

The Saver tickets do not require a half fare card, but their price is further reduced if you do have one. You then end up with a Supersaver ticket at half price. And you need the half fare card.
In your case you do have a ticket that requires the half fare card. This means that during purchase you did click in the “discount” box, and selected “half fare travel card” there. You will indeed need to buy another ticket an request a refund for this one.

Thank you so much for this information. I am going to do this.
In any case, I would like to ask, in the last place, if this option is completely “fine”/“legal”… I mean, I am afraid that a train reviewer would not accept this combination or that I could get in trouble or something… 🙈 I imagine that if you have proposed it, it means it is fine, but the process has been so confusing that I am over worried.
