Seat reservation

I booked a ticket from Luzern to Milano but its not allowing me to reserve a seat. I tried every way possible but unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong?

For example, if you choose an Intercity train (IC 21) from Luzern to Lugano and a regional train (RE 80) from Lugano to Milano, no seat reservation is mandatory.

It is possible to reserve a seat separately from Luzern to Lugano, but it is not possible between Lugano and Milano.

Thank you so much Danhiel. This is very helpful. Yes we are going from Lugano and I was able to reserve. It didn’t give me option though.
