Printing tickets (again)

A recurring issue people appear to have with the SBB webshop is printing tickets. And I am now faced with the same problem.

I booked tickets (Interlaken to Firenzen) and now want to print them out. The big red, “Billetten Drucken” button on the page where I can see my tickets does some animation, but further does nothing.

Also when trying to navigate (eg by pressing the back button) you often end up with a blank page. Reloading does not help.

Going by messages the different travel fora I am not the only one running in to this issue. Why can’t SBB just do the right thing, and just send the tickets by email?

Krist Are you by any chance using Firefox under Windows (would be helpful details)?

If so, check here
In short, check your popup blocker settings (deactivate), otherwise your ticket PDFs currently won’t be displayed after clicking the button, but they’ll be found in the Windows Downloads folder.
(Or just use a different browser such as Edge/Chrome)

Krist I have this problem with Safari and macOS. I use Microsoft Edge to print the tickets.

In my opinion, this has to be rectified by the web developers. It cannot be that this important feature is not working for some customers.

I will check with SBB.

I found a solution for Safari and macOS: I explicitly allowed the pop-up windows for shop.sbb.ch. Default is “Block and Notify”.

I had the problem with Safari on my iPad. I suspect that many people with phones and pads have the same problem.
SBB should realise that for many people a phone or tablet is the only “computer” they have.

Interesting detail: We booked Interlaken - Firenze with SBB. The tickets for the EC and the FR have an Trenitalia booking code on them, and I could that way add them to the Trenitalia app, where I can even change them…
