hi there,
Have tried reading the various information about the passes but still confused over my best option and how discounts work on a travelcard.
I specifically want to go from Wengen to Grindelwald First (and return). Mannlichen on the way up but not locked into the options returning (the departure time suits in the morning)
Using the app, when I look up the routes, I’m offered only a Point to Point ticket for $204 CHF. I was wondering if a travel card is an option even though much of this route on the discounted path, not covered by the pass? How does this scenario work with a TC, how do you purchase the route with the discount and is it even an option with cost savings?
The following day I’m going to head from Wengen to Schynige Platte return & the app is only suggesting and PTP ticket for $91.20 CHF. I’d like to potentially go to Interlaken and back to Wengen but the cost is starting to get prohibitive. Again, what is the most cost effective option?
Just so you have the complete picture 😉, I’ll be in Switzerland for 4 days. I’d originally looked at a 4 day Swiss pass but at the time PTP tickets were cheaper, now they’re potentially not. I’ve already bought Saver Day Passes (CHF 52 each) for Basel - Wengen and Wengen - Zurich. I believe these are route specific tickets, but wondering if a travelcard pass would be better and allow me to take a side trip on the day?? Then, naturally, can I get a refund on my Saver Day Passes if there are alternative options?
Any and all help and advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏
