Children saver day pass vs Day Pass Children

Hello, I am trying to understand the difference between Children saver day pass vs Day Pass Children. I have a fixed data ( Jun 28th ) to travel. Hence, I am looking for buying saver day pass for me and my wife along with my child who is 9 years old. When I try to purchase, its 49 CHF for my child for the saver day pass, whereas its only CHF 19 if I purchase Day pass children for my kid for the same day.. What are difference between these two tickets? both seems to be allowing a children to ride free swiss travel system for one entire day. Can someone please help clarifying.. Thanks in advance.

It is simple:

Purchase for you and your wife a Saver Day Pass.
Purchase for your child a Day Pass Children.

Both have identical validities. They are not valid for mountain excursions, with some exceptions being Mt. Rigi, Mt. Stanserhorn, Stoos, Mt. Rochers-de-Naye, and Klewenalp.

RolandP Understood. Thanks for the quick response. It helps.. on that days, we are planning to take the Bernina express route from Tirano –> Chur –> Lucern. We are still thinking about the panorama ( I know we need reservation in addition to the ticket) vs region train. 1) Can you confirm if Day saver and Children pass cover the entire journey ( either panoramic or regional ) from Tirano to Lucern 2) Also, there are multiple train changes on the way like in pontresina, samedan etc.. but for very short time like 9 mins , 6 mins.. is that enough time to change the train with few luggages?

I know the area very well. Both passes cover all train travel in Switzerland. It is also valid for trains of category PE.

Yes, time to change trains is sufficient. We, the Swiss, like it efficient. Waiting at the station for the next train to arrive is something we do not like at all, not to say we hate that. You can trust the timetable; it is precise and only suggests connections that are doable. Just be prepared for getting off the train when the train arrives at the station.

The timetable does not suggest train changes that are impossible 🙂

It is with pleasure. In my opinion, the Bernina Express is one of the most scenic train rides our country has to offer.

I forgot to mention, try to sit on the left-hand side in travel direction, it offers better views.
