I paid 6 francs for the luggage locker in Geneva. I realised that I forgot to put something in so I opened the locker, but it would not close unless I pay another 6 francs. It was within a 3 minute time span.
So I went to the SBB office expecting either a refund or them to allow me to use it again without repaying. This was only a 3 minute time lapse. I expect that paying this price I would have access to the locker as many times as required during the rental period. Not only that, I expect a VERY LARGE sign saying that once you re-open you have LOST all your money! I think this is logic and common sense. I was informed by unhelpful SBB staff and Manager that it is written in the information on the display on another page. When you are new country, occupied with paying and reading instructions on use of locker, I would NOT read every single rule on every display! UNLESS it was notuceable. The SBB staff were unhelpful and argued with me. If I knew that I could only hire for 6 hours at a time without opening I would NOT have OPENED IT! It smacks of sharp practice! It’s daylight robbery. Unhappy customer. It’s not a good look for Switzerland! It’s not about the money it’s the principle and inflexibility!
