I am extremely rattled. I really like SBB and am a happy user of your services. Today (April 27th) I bought a ticket from Basel to Strasbourg for the train leaving at 11:21. Due to a mistake the person at the counter, however, sold me a ticket for May 8th. In the train I got checked and had to buy another ticket and pay a fine (and got told in a fairly condescending tone that it is my duty to check that I get the right ticket).
So, I have now two tickets, one fine, I will never get my money back because someone at the counter at SBB in Basel made a mistake and since the SNCF personnel has no sense of proportion.
I am just extremely disappointed by SBB that this happened and by SNCF how they are handling the situation. I will go complain at the counter, but have little hope that they will revert their decision.
Anyhow, mostly ranting here to get this off my chest.
