I have a question regarding the meaning of “limited service.” I am planning a trip using an InterRail card and will be traveling from Basel to Chamonix on the 8th of July. To ensure that I secure a seat on the trains, I have been attempting to make a seat reservation in advance. However, I recently discovered that there will be construction work between Tecknau and Olten on that day, which means that no seat reservations can be made.
My main concern is understanding what exactly “limited services” refer to. Will there be any train departures at all, or should I explore alternative connections?
Here is the full text from the app: “Limited train service between Tecknau and Olten are subject to restrictions. This is due to construction work. The restriction lasts from 07.07.2024, 22:00 until 12.08.2024, 06:00. You have to expect changed timetables. We recommend you to check your timetable online shortly before travelling. The online timetable will be updated. Purchasing international tickets or saver tickets and making reservations is currently not possible.”
