Good afternoon. I’m going on vacation to Switzerland and I have several questions.
When I select a train or cable car on a day at a specific time, I then see that the website tells me that this ticket is actually valid for the entire day.
Can I really take the transport at an approximate different time?
Is this also valid for the train that goes up to Jungfraujoch? thank you so much

Quoowoovigh83 Please note that only point-to-point tickets are valid in every train. Supersaver Tickets are valid only in the selected trains.

For the Jungfraujoch, you can reserve a seat but it is not mandatory:

By default tickets are for a route, and valid a whole day. So yes you can take another train at your own discretion.

How do I know what type of ticket I am buying? If I enter an origin and destination, I select the time, but then the system tells me that I have all day to take that transport.
I have to say that at the moment I have only selected small excursions with cable car and chairlift. Are these types of tickets all point to point?
Furthermore, I also want to take an excursion to the Jungfraujoch with the Eiger express first and the train later. I suppose that for this trip we do have to respect the schedule? The thing is that I don’t see anywhere on the website the two types of tickets that you indicate. Thank you so much

Quoowoovigh83 Supersaver Tickets are not available for every relation and probably not for mountain excursions. This explains why you haven’t seen any discounted prices.

You can find on the ticket if it is a point-to-point ticket who is valid on every train/cable car.

If you buy reservations for the Jungfraujoch, it is better to respect the schedule. The problem is that people with reservations have priority and, if the train is full, people without reservations must wait for the next one. But it depends of the weather and/or the date of travel, it is impossible to say in advance how much people are travelling.

The seat reservation is valid for the route Eigergletscher <> Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe or Kleine Scheidegg <> Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. In addition to the reservation, a valid ticket is needed.

Thank you very much Danhiel. Sorry, I have one last question. Indeed, when I go to pay for the ticket, it tells me that it is a Point to Point trip, which is more expensive. My question is about the excursion to the Jungfraujoch from Grindelwald. On the Jungfraujoch website it asks me for a departure time and asks me how long I am going to stay at the top to assign me a return ticket. Since it is the same price, I prefer to buy the ticket with SBB since since it is a point to point ticket it is for the whole day, but I understand that they will necessarily have to manage the return times to ensure that all passengers can return. is it like that? When I book that specific ticket, will they tell me a specific return time? thank you

Quoowoovigh83 With a point-to-point ticket you can also use every train for your Jungfraujoch excursion. If you miss your reserved train from the summit, you can take the next one or a later train (or an earlier train, don’t miss the last of the day!), but your reservation loses its validity and people with reservations will have priority. As I indicated it in another post, it depends of the weather. Swiss residents stay at home if it is bad, only tourists have no choice if they are only a few days in Switzerland.
