Swiss Pass Flex + Companion Pass

Hi,
I am travelling to Switzerland on 9th May along with my wife. I want to ask that if I buy a swiss flex pass would I be allowed to buy a companion pass for my wife then? I just read on copilot that you need to be permanent swiss resident (as the eligibility criteria), is that correct? I can’t see this anywhere on your website, can you please confirm?

Yes, companion tickets can be used with a Swiss Travel Pass Flex.

You can purchase companion tickets for the days on which use a Swiss Travel Pass Flex day.

Simply be aware that the companion ticket does not grant any discounts for mountain excursions while the Swiss Travel Pass Flex does on activated days.

Sorry to bother you again, Can you confirm if I can buy a companion ticket with simple swiss travel pass or buying swiss travel pass flex is mandatory?

It works with any Swiss Travel Pass type.

Just note, as I said before: on some mountain excursions, the Swiss Travel Pass (Flex) will grant a 25% or 50% reduction on the regular ticket. Your wife, however, would have to purchase a full fare ticket for such excursions, as the companion ticket does not grant the same reduction to her.

There are a few mountain excursions that are free for the Swiss Travel Pass and the companion ticket, namely: Mt. Rigi, Mt. Stanserhorn, Mt. Rochers-de-Naye, Stoos, and Klewenalp.
